Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data img.now collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. We have written it in plain language, but it is intended to be a complete description of our practices.
Last updated 16 June 2026.
1. Who we are
img.now is a service operated by Targa Limited ("img.now", "we", "us" or "our"), which provides an online platform for generating and editing images with AI. For the personal data described here, Targa Limited (trading as img.now) is the data controller. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected], for general support at [email protected], or through the contact page.
2. What data we collect
- Account data: your name (if provided), email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and plan.
- Content data: the prompts you write, images you upload to a tool, and the images you generate, plus your recent history.
- Billing data: if you subscribe, your plan, billing status, and a payment token from our processor. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Usage data: features used, credits consumed, and basic interaction logs that help us run and improve the Service.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, and similar log information collected automatically.
- Communications: messages you send us through the contact page or by email.
3. How we use your data
- to provide the Service: run generations and edits, save your history, and manage your account;
- to process payments, manage trials and subscriptions, and prevent billing abuse;
- to keep the Service safe: screen prompts, detect fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms and safety rules;
- to support you and respond to your messages;
- to improve the Service through aggregate, privacy-respecting analysis;
- to send essential service emails, and marketing emails only where you have a choice to opt out;
- to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
4. Legal bases (for EU/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (to provide the Service you sign up for), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain and improve the Service and prevent abuse), consent (for optional marketing or any future use of content to train models, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (for tax, accounting and lawful requests).
5. How we use your content
When you upload an image to a tool such as the upscaler or background remover, we use it only to run that task and return your result. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your prompts or uploads to train AI models without clear, separate consent. Generating images requires sending your prompt, and any image you provide, to the AI model providers described below, solely to produce your result.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run img.now, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. These include:
- Stripe for payment processing;
- AI model and cloud infrastructure providers that generate images and host the Service;
- analytics and email providers that help us understand usage and send service messages.
We may also disclose data if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to enforce our terms, to protect the rights and safety of people, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (in which case we will tell you).
7. Cookies and analytics
We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, keep the Service secure, and understand basic, aggregate usage. We avoid invasive tracking and we do not build advertising profiles from your activity. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some essential cookies are needed for the Service to work.
8. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it. Account data is kept while your account is active. Content and history are kept to deliver your results and your recent history, and on the Free plan recent items are pruned automatically. Billing records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law. When you delete content it is removed from your workspace, and limited backup or legally required copies are deleted on a rolling schedule.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users have rights under the GDPR; California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" (we do not sell or share data in that sense). You can manage and delete most data yourself in your account, or contact [email protected] to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10. How to delete your data
Open your account, go to history or uploads, and delete any item to remove it from your workspace. To delete your whole account and associated data, use the account settings or email [email protected] and we will handle it.
11. Children's privacy
img.now is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
img.now and our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect it in line with applicable law.
13. Security
We use technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and monitoring, to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will give notice through the app or by email.
15. Contact
For any privacy request or question, email [email protected] or use the contact page. You can also review the terms of use and the copyright and image rights notes.
